The National Government is in the final sprint of the extraordinary sessions, working on alternatives in case of rejection of Judge Ariel Lijo's appointment for the Supreme Court. It is proposed to appoint Ricardo Rojas and Ricardo Ramírez Calvo by decree, along with Manuel García Mansilla, if necessary.
A source from Casa Rosada revealed: "If Lijo is rejected, we are thinking of appointing the two most libertarian people available by decree." They seek the approval of Lijo's appointment in the Upper House on February 21, but are prepared for any adverse results, considering appointments by decree with García Mansilla.
There are concerns about the vote on the appointment, which has received the necessary signatures, including that of Lucía Corpacci from Unión por la Patria. In case of rejection, names like Ricardo Rojas and Ricardo Ramírez Calvo are being considered, along with constitutional experts like Alberto Bianchi and Carlos Laplacette.
Ricardo Rojas has the support of the president and had been considered to lead the General Treasury Procurement. Meanwhile, Ramírez Calvo, who worked with García Mansilla, is another favorite for the position in the Supreme Court.
Although there are risks in the appointments in commission, there is hope to have the two judges desired by the Executive for the Opening of the Ordinary Sessions on March 1. Despite having a plan B, they expect to achieve Lijo's approval and continue with the appointment of Mansilla by decree, as originally planned.
