The government has established new deadlines for the implementation of the Technical Vehicle Verification (VTV) in Argentina. According to the new regulations, private vehicles will need to undergo VTV every 5 years from the moment of their registration. For commercial vehicles, the first VTV will take place 2 years after registration. For cars that are between 5 and 10 years old, the VTV will be every 5 years for private vehicles.
Among the changes introduced, the possibility of carrying out VTV at authorized private workshops and dealerships stands out. This aims to streamline procedures and improve road safety in the country.
One of the goals of this measure is to unify and extend the deadlines for VTV, providing benefits to owners of newer vehicles. Vehicles registered from 2025 will be included in these new provisions, while for vehicles with registration prior to this date, the previous regulations will remain in effect.
The main objectives of this modification are to expedite VTV procedures, increase road safety, and provide benefits to owners of more recent vehicles.
Additionally, the elimination of the National Inter-jurisdictional Transport License (LiNTI) has been announced to facilitate the obtaining of driving licenses and streamline administrative processes in the transport of goods and passengers.
Regarding deadlines, 0 km vehicles will have to comply with VTV 5 years after their registration. For vehicles 10 years or older, the verification must be carried out every two years, both for private and commercial vehicles.
These changes represent an evolution in vehicle controls in Argentina, aiming to improve safety on the streets, roads, and highways, as well as simplify procedures for drivers in the country.
