The renowned journalist Jonatan Viale surprised with a strong statement after a controversial interview with Javier Milei on TN. Viale stated that in the past he had to leave a media outlet because he refused to campaign for a political candidate who received very few votes in an election, without revealing the identity of the candidate in question.
"No, neither for 80, nor for 100, nor for 300," Viale stressed while rejecting the proposal, making it clear that the amount of money offered to support that candidate did not matter. His words generated speculation about which media outlet he was referring to and provoked criticism towards other journalists who, according to him, would have accepted the offer.
Jonatan Viale did not provide concrete details about the channel or program he left for refusing to support the candidate in question. Some suggested that it could refer to his departure from América TV and A24 in 2021, when he joined La Nación+, while others speculated that his statement might be linked to his recent move from La Nación+ to TN in 2024.
On the other hand, Viale criticized his colleagues who, according to him, accepted the proposal at that time, while now they are dedicated to criticizing various situations. His firm stance in refusing to serve political interests throughout his professional career sparked a debate in the journalistic realm, generating different opinions and reflections on ethics and commitment in the practice of the profession.
