Intentional Fires in Villa Traful

In the midst of the environmental disaster in Neuquén, at least six intentional fire outbreaks were discovered in Villa Traful. Reports were made at police station 51, and initial investigations confirmed the deliberate nature of the fires.

The Villa Traful Development Commission reported that complaints were filed at the local police station to assess the fire outbreaks on the path leading to the virgin. After initial evaluations, it was confirmed that the six outbreaks were intentional, causing concern amid the wildfires affecting the Patagonia region.

The initial alert came from neighbors who noticed smoke and fire on the path near the electrical line. The quick action of the neighbors and park ranger staff prevented the flames from spreading. According to the report released, the outbreaks were located on the path to the virgin, near the commission's landfill, about 250 meters from the entrance at lot M, within the jurisdiction of the municipality.

Experts who assessed the area indicated that the arrangement of the outbreaks suggests an intentional origin, as five were on the left side and close to each other, while the remaining one was on the opposite side.
