Javier Milei has taken office as president and has expressed his intention to maintain his usual style. In response to criticism from the opposition, he stated that the numbers from the polls reflect that the economy is recovering and that media pressure does not affect him. Regarding the scandal involving the cryptocurrency Libra, Milei expressed that he acted in good faith and regretted being deceived.
In an interview with Jonatan Viale, Milei referred to his relationship with the creators of the digital project, stating that he is willing to learn from problematic situations. Moreover, he criticized Cristina Kirchner and Axel Kicillof. Regarding the possible involvement of government officials in the cryptocurrency scandal, Milei dismissed the idea, affirming that the vast majority of investors are foreign.
Milei explained that he met Hayden Mark Davis, the creator of the cryptocurrency Libre, at the Casa Rosada in 2024 and that he promoted the project with the intention of helping entrepreneurs with financing difficulties. Regarding the deletion of his tweet, he argued that it occurred due to confusion over a possible hacking of his account and emphasized his interest in supporting proposals that benefit technological entrepreneurs.
The president expressed his confidence that the situation will be clarified and stressed that his credibility will not be affected by this incident. Although he acknowledged that he could have been a victim of deception, Milei stated that he acted in good faith and that his intention has always been to collaborate with innovative projects.
