Self-Inflicted Political Crisis Affects the Argentine Government

Analyst Alejandro Catterberg highlights that, despite the nervousness in society following President Milei's scandal, the social mood remains favorable to the government, thanks to its recent economic advances.

Self-Inflicted Political Crisis Affects the Argentine Government

Political analyst Alejandro Catterberg, director of Poliarquía, evaluated the government's situation in the radio program "Si pasa, pasa" after President Javier Milei promoted a cryptocurrency that generated controversy.

Catterberg recognized the government's advances in its economic program so far, achieving a balance in public accounts. However, he pointed out that a climate of unrest has begun to be felt in society and markets, mainly due to the reactions and comments from the president himself, such as his criticisms of the Woke agenda in Davos.

The analyst described the situation as the first political crisis generated by the government itself. Despite this, Catterberg indicated that social mood remains favorable to the government.

According to Catterberg, a critical point occurred on Friday when the president promoted the cryptocurrency Libra, which he considers an act of "self-sabotage" towards his own government and program.

Amid the controversy, the analyst highlighted that social mood continues to support the government despite the widespread discontent caused by the president's actions and comments.
