The lawyer close to President Javier Milei, Francisco Oneto, has declared that Milei has not committed any crime after promoting the Libra token on his official Twitter account. Oneto stated that Milei's behavior does not constitute any crime due to the absence of intent, meaning the intention to commit a crime despite being aware of it.
In response to former president Cristina Kirchner, who accused Milei of being a scammer, Oneto mentioned that Milei has not shown any intention to commit a crime and therefore cannot be attributed any participation of the president in illicit activities. He explained that intent would imply a violation of a duty of care established by law, which is also not fulfilled in this case.
Oneto emphasized that if there is ongoing concern about crimes, it should be directed towards other sectors instead of targeting Milei. He concluded his statements urging people to see the situation clearly without prejudice. Milei's defense is based on the argument that his behavior did not have the criminal intentions necessary to be considered an illegal action and that no duty of care established by law was violated in promoting the Libra token on his social media.
