Controversy Surrounds New Undersecretary of Environment

The National Government has responded to the criticisms made by the upcoming Undersecretary of Environment, Fernando Bron, who pointed out deficiencies in the management of forest fire prevention and is being considered to lead the position soon.

During a press conference, presidential spokesperson Manuel Adorni explained that Bron's observations stem from his lack of familiarity with government functions and the actions taken so far to address the fire crisis. He emphasized that Bron is not yet an official and, therefore, lacks all the necessary information to make accurate judgments on the matter.

Regarding the replacement of Ana Lamas, who resigned from her position, Bron admitted that fire prevention was not a priority in the previous management and that the work in this area had clearly been deficient.

Spokesperson Adorni assured that once Bron is informed about the actions taken so far and the support provided by the Government in response to requests from various jurisdictions, he will be able to form a more informed opinion on the matter.

Adorni also emphasized that it is crucial to stay aligned with President Javier Milei's agenda, highlighting that those officials whose actions or statements diverge from this agenda must resign. He stressed that loyalty and commitment to the presidential agenda are fundamental to staying in Government.

Finally, Adorni mentioned the importance of respecting the timelines and processes established by the president regarding reforms, referring to the recent departure of the head of ANSES, Mariano De Los Heros, who disclosed details about a pension reform.
