Call to appoint senators for the bipartisan rights committee

The 'Democracy for Always' party block requests Vice President Victoria Villarruela to appoint senators for the Bicameral Defender of the Rights of Girls, Boys, and Adolescents, which has been stagnant for a year. They urge to regulate the appointment due to the expiration of Marisa Graham's term.

Call to appoint senators for the bipartisan rights committee

The block of national deputies of Democracy for Always today urged the vice president, Victoria Villarruela, to appoint the senators to constitute the Bicameral Defender of the Rights of Children and Adolescents, which has been stalled for a year.

The bicameral has the responsibility to regulate the process for appointing a new defender of the Rights of Children and Adolescents, as Marisa Graham's mandate is about to expire. The radical deputies pointed out in a note addressed to the vice president: "Once the aforementioned Commission is formed, we request through you that the members proceed as soon as possible to carry out the public competition established in the governing norm, and the subsequent appointment of the Defender and the associate defenders."

In the communication, the bench led by Pablo Juliano expressed its concern: "As you know, the omission of the Honorable Senate of the Nation - which persists despite the claims received - has placed us in a critical scenario that directly affects the institutional order established in the Constitutional Block and, which is of greater gravity, the promotion, protection, and guarantee of the rights of children and adolescents in our country."
