Deputy Bongiovanni comments on 'Clean Sheet'

National Deputy Alejandro Bongiovanni (PRO-Santa Fe) expressed his opinion on the 'Clean slate' project approved by the lower house, stating that although he does not consider it a definitive solution to make politics transparent, in the current context it can be useful, although it is necessary to improve the judicial system for its proper functioning.

In words to Radio Splendid, Bongiovanni mentioned that, while he is not a great supporter of the clean slate concept, he sees this initiative as an initial step toward a possible solution. He emphasized that the prohibition of being a candidate for those with convictions in double judicial instances can be useful at this moment.

The legislator stressed that, while Clean slate can be beneficial in the current context, the fundamental problems of the country reside in other areas. He highlighted that a poor administration of justice could undermine the purpose of this law.

Despite acknowledging the need for a cultural reform in the judicial system to ensure the effectiveness and transparency of the law, Bongiovanni considered that the requirement of a conviction in two judicial instances is a reasonable condition to maintain integrity in electoral nominations.
