The session request for this Thursday at noon was formalized by the ruling party. The central focus of the session will be on the electoral strengthening project that includes the suspension of the PASO primaries. Additionally, other topics will be included in the agenda, such as the absentia trial project and the recidivism law.
Gabriel Bornoroni, president of the La Libertad Avanza bloc, along with other legislators from the libertarian bench, were the ones who made the call for 12 PM that day. It is expected that during the plenary of the Constitutional Affairs, Justice, and Budget committees that will take place tomorrow starting at 2 PM, the ruling party and its allies will achieve a majority opinion.
It is anticipated that the voting in the session will have tight numbers; however, the ruling party is confident in gathering the necessary votes in the coming hours to achieve the half sanction. For this, a special majority of 129 votes is required, so attention remains focused on parties like the UCR, Encuentro Federal, and even Unión por la Patria.
In the words of Bornoroni and his colleagues: "It is essential to advance these initiatives to strengthen our electoral system and combat criminal recidivism. We trust that we will have the necessary support for these proposals to become law and be implemented for the benefit of citizenship."
