The block of deputies that brings together Kirchnerism and other allied spaces issued a statement rejecting the president's expressions of hatred in Davos. They believe these expressions seek to stigmatize citizens and curtail their freedom. In contrast, they invited the Argentine people to join the Federal March organized by LGBTIQ+ assemblies across the country.
In the statement, the deputies expressed their commitment to democracy, diversity, and tolerance, rejecting any form of fascism. They emphasized that, despite mistakes, they defend the same values both in the streets and in the Chamber of Deputies. As the opposition, they assert that they are fulfilling their duty to defend social justice and the sovereignty of the country against what they consider neoliberal cruelty.
The block of deputies from Unión por la Patria also joined the call to participate in the Federal March led by LGBTIQ+ assemblies. This call arises after the controversial statements made by the president in Davos regarding homosexuality, pedophilia, and gender ideology.
The statement highlights the long history of their political space in expanding rights and the distribution of wealth in Argentina, rejecting any attempts to curtail these fundamental rights. The call for the march aims to stop fascist attitudes and hate speech that, according to the block of deputies, are being promoted by the current government.
