Controversy Over Milei's Comments at LGBT March

The National Government responded to President Javier Milei's criticisms of feminism and the LGBT community during his speech at the World Economic Forum in Davos. In a press conference, an official clarified that the president did not question feminism as a defense of women but opposed particular interests behind this movement instead of the effective defense of women's rights. Furthermore, he emphasized that the president respects each individual's freedom of choice without infringing on the rights of others.

On his social media, the president shared an image titled "The Leftist Dictionary," where he denounced misinterpretations of his words, highlighting his opposition to the privileges of gender policies. He also referred to the double interpretation given to his statements, relating them to an alleged persecution of the LGBT collective.

After the assembly of the feminist collective in Parque Lezama, where it was decided to call for a mobilization, the Government clarified that it supports freedom of expression and the defense of rights, as long as the rights of others are not infringed upon. It was emphasized that genuine causes, such as the defense of women or the LGBT community, will not be allowed to be used for profit.

The official spokesperson for the Government refuted incorrect interpretations of Milei's words in Davos and explained that the president criticizes the advance of a larger State, which he believes leads to fewer real rights, less private property, and more poverty. It was asserted that the Government opposes the left's agenda, which seeks to destroy its general and economic project, and reaffirmed its commitment to the defense of freedom and the rejection of any form of slavery, whether economic or in other aspects of life.
