Former judge Ricardo Manuel Rojas rejected this morning the proposal from the government of Javier Milei to head the Treasury Attorney's Office, following the early departure of Rodolfo Barra. The Executive Power has informed that they already have a successor in mind.
"I am deeply grateful to President Javier Milei for the offer to take the position of Treasury Attorney," clarified the lawyer and author of several books. "It is a great honor. While I have declined for the reasons I explained to him and Santiago Caputo, I will always be willing to collaborate in whatever way is best," he added.
Rojas's refusal comes after his visit to the Casa Rosada, where he met with the presidential advisor to explain the reasons why he decided not to accept the position that became vacant with Barra's resignation at the president's request.
Official sources informed the Noticias Argentinas agency that they have already designated the future official, whose name will be announced by presidential spokesperson Manuel Adorni at the press conference this Tuesday at 11.
After yesterday's exchange of opinions, it became known that there were other candidates for the position. Although Javier Milei has admiration for Rojas, it was considered that he was not the candidate that best fit the desired profile.
