The Women Trade Unionists of the General Confederation of Labor (CGT) spoke out against President Javier Milei's speech at the Davos Forum. Under the title "We repudiate the violent, false, and discriminatory expressions made by the president in Davos," they issued an extensive statement harshly criticizing his declarations.
In the statement, they point out that Milei has dishonored the democratic pillars of peace and progress of rights that characterize Argentina, with a message filled with unfounded assertions, violence, prejudice, and resentment. They also call on Congress to repudiate the president's violent and discriminatory message, arguing that the powers are designed to control each other.
The Women Trade Unionists assert that they will continue working to preserve the values that make Argentines an example of coexistence in a world marked by internal conflicts. They also urge Milei to focus on serving retirees, workers, women, children, and diverse identities instead of attacking, as that is his responsibility, not acting as an employee of Elon Musk.
Finally, the statement calls for mobilization on March 8, International Women's Day, in rejection of the state's depletion, in defense of national industry as a source of employment, and in demand for decent wages, which are among the lowest on the continent.
