The national deputy of Union for the Homeland (UxP) and president of the Women and Diversity Commission of the Chamber of Deputies, Mónica Macha, spoke out regarding the stance of the president of the nation, Javier Milei, on the role of feminism in society. She emphasized the importance of continuing to advance in the construction of a common space where all identities can fit and live freely, with self-esteem and comfort in the identity they have built.
In this sense, Macha highlighted that Milei's position is an enabling environment for violent men not to feel that they are doing something wrong or that they will face consequences for their actions. She also pointed out that this attitude aligns with ideologies that seek to limit the rights of various gender identities and women, in addition to generating an exclusionary society.
The legislator also stressed the relationship between the aggressive and violent language used by public figures and the proliferation of hateful thoughts, which can manifest in extreme situations such as femicides. In this context, she highlighted the importance of having public policies that address gender perspective and provide support to individuals in situations of violence.
Macha urged to resist and persist in the feminist and transfeminist struggle, defending the rights agenda that has been constructed over the years. For the deputy, it is essential not to retreat in the progress made and to remain firm in the face of positions that promote exclusion and violence.
