The Chief of Cabinet, Guillermo Francos, criticized the expenditure of 150 million dollars allocated to resolve an internal problem of political parties in Argentina, suggesting that with so many needs in the country, this investment does not seem reasonable.
During the extraordinary sessions, Francos expressed his intention to analyze the willingness of the different legislative blocks to address the topics under discussion and determine where there is a possibility of majority. He emphasized the importance of reaching agreements with other blocks to achieve significant progress, as was done with the Bases Law.
In this scenario, a meeting would be held with key legislators such as Cristian Ritondo (PRO), Rodrigo De Loredo (UCR), and Oscar Zago (MID). However, Deputy Miguel Ángel Pichetto (Encuentro Federal) declined the invitation to Casa Rosada, requesting that the debate take place in Congress. Francos also confirmed an upcoming meeting with senators, mentioning the possibility of reaching agreements regarding the elimination of the Open, Simultaneous, and Mandatory Primaries (PASO) and other relevant issues.
Regarding PASO, Francos pointed out that they imply high expenses with limited results, estimating the cost at about 150 million dollars. He highlighted the importance of coordinating with the blocks of senators and allies to advance these discussions, acknowledging the uniqueness of the current period with various representatives outside their usual places of residence.
On the other hand, the Chief of Cabinet praised the international projection of President Javier Milei, who was highlighted at Donald Trump's inauguration and is scheduled to speak at the Davos Forum. Francos considered that Milei has become a world leader, thereby highlighting Argentina's position on the global stage. Finally, he revealed that he stays informed minute by minute about events related to Milei through a shared chat with Cabinet members.
