
Bad weather persists this Friday in several areas of the country, for which the National Meteorological Service (SMN) renewed its alerts for strong winds. This is a yellow alert for the Santa Cruz mountain range, all of Chubut, Río Negro, and Neuquén; eastern Mendoza, all of San Luis, southern La Rioja, northwest Córdoba, and all of Tucumán.
According to the agency's report, "on Friday the 15th during the morning and afternoon, the alert area will be affected by north winds with speeds between 35 and 50 km/h with gusts that can reach 70 km/h." The SMN indicated that "starting from the night of Friday the 15th and especially during the early morning of Saturday the 16th, winds will shift to the south in the alert area during that period with similar speeds and gusts between 60 and 80 km/h, reaching the highest intensities in the province of San Juan."
Meanwhile, for areas in the south of the country, the agency indicated that "the area will be affected by west winds with speeds between 40 and 60 km/h, and gusts that can exceed 90 km/h."
The SMN issued recommendations for strong winds, including avoiding outdoor activities, securing items that could be blown away, and staying informed by the authorities. It is important to prepare an emergency backpack with a flashlight, radio, documents, and a phone if necessary.
