The Ministry of Human Capital reported irregularities in the processing of the Pregnancy Allowance for Social Protection. According to the statement, ANSES detected fraud situations in the submission of necessary documentation to access the benefit. Among the anomalies found, "fake documents and counterfeit medical certificates" were mentioned.
In several cases, ANSES rejected forms due to "notable inconsistencies" such as invalid medical registrations, incorrect stamps or CUIL, and certifications made by unlicensed professionals in obstetrics. The forms considered fraudulent were retained for further investigation.
The investigation led by ANSES and verified by the Directorate of Criminal Affairs, Investigations, and Summaries revealed the existence of "medical certificates without birth registration" and other recurring issues in the documents necessary to access the allowance. These irregularities suggest the possible existence of non-existent pregnancies and the simulation of pregnancy terminations.
The official statement from the Ministry highlights the discovery of "several types of irregularities" in the application forms for the allowance. It specifically mentions the presence of fake medical certificates where no birth or termination of pregnancy after the declared date was registered, leading to suspicion of possible fraud cases to improperly obtain the benefit.
