The Government of Chubut reported that at least 500 people, including brigadistas, firefighters, and support staff, continue to fight the fires that have ravaged over 45,000 hectares in Los Alerces National Park and Puerto Patriada. The operation is being carried out with helicopters, water-dropping aircraft, fire trucks, tankers, and 60 vehicles to combat the hotspots in 'Primera Cantera.' Meanwhile, on Monday, reactivations were recorded in Simón Marchand and Villa Lago Rivadavia. At the same time, workers used manual tools and water equipment to carry out a direct attack on the fire in Pinar de Geréz, while strong winds caused secondary hotspots in the Eco Aldea canyon, mainly affecting two homes that were not damaged. Additionally, in Cholila and Neuquén, permanent cooling is being implemented in the lower area of the morro and nearby locations using fire trucks and a unimog. A total of 16,765 hectares have been affected in these areas, according to data from the Unified Command. A total of 28,577 hectares were razed by the relentless fire in 'Primera Cantera,' Puerto Patriada, where the Provincial Forest Secretariat continues to lead the response to the disaster that began on January 5. Firefighters from the Epuyén and El Maitén bases proceeded to detect hotspots at kilometer 6 of El Colihue and La Burrada. In the area called 'Tinelli,' there were active hotspots in the ñirantal area and in El Retamal, flames were fought with heavy machinery for the creation of firebreaks and tankers to guarantee water supply.
