Argentina has registered at least 47 confirmed and probable cases of chikungunya fever. Of these, 27 cases (22 laboratory-confirmed and 5 probable) are autochthonous, while 20 (15 confirmed and 5 probable) have a travel history to Bolivia, Brazil, Paraguay, and Cuba. This is indicated in a report from the National Epidemiological Bulletin (BEN), accessed by the Argentine News Agency (NA), which details that the presence of cases mainly affects border localities in Salta province and is linked to the sustained increase in cases in the Americas, especially in the mid-west and southeast regions of Brazil and southern Bolivia. Furthermore, it is noted that considering the 177% weekly increase recorded in Salta, the current scenario is considered an ongoing outbreak. The report also indicates that up to week 08, 36 cases were notified, 24 autochthonous and 12 with a travel history, mainly to Bolivia, and that the highest concentration of cases is found in the General José de San Martín department (especially in the locality of Prof. Salvador Mazza) and Orán (mainly in Aguas Blancas). Two cases of local transmission were also notified in the Yerba Buena department, Tucumán province, and one probable case in Chaco province, thus confirming the presence of autochthonous circulation in the northern region of the country. In the Province and City of Buenos Aires, Córdoba, and San Luis, cases were also registered, all of them imported. Additionally, there were 4 cases of SARS-CoV-2 and 4 of influenza. Regarding the situation of respiratory viruses, Argentina is going through an interseasonal period characterized by low circulation. In outpatients, 4 cases of SARS-CoV-2, 4 cases of influenza, and none of Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV) were confirmed. In hospitalized patients, only 5 hospitalizations with a diagnosis of SARS-CoV-2, 1 with influenza, and 2 with RSV were notified. In relation to Influenza A(H3N2), through the genomic sequencing of samples from confirmed cases in previous weeks, 9 new cases of the J.2.4.1 (K) subclade were identified: 3 in Salta, 2 in Mendoza, 2 in the Province of Buenos Aires (PBA), and 2 in the Autonomous City of Buenos Aires (CABA). To date, the total accumulated is 85 confirmed cases, and the jurisdictions with the highest number of cases are CABA with 13 confirmed, Buenos Aires and Mendoza with 11, and Santa Cruz with 8. Although these figures exceed those recorded for the same period in previous years, the current scenario must be understood based on the increase in cases recorded during the year 2025. Regarding arboviruses, the BEN informs that during week 08 a new case of dengue was confirmed in PBA with a travel history to Paraguay, corresponding to week 05. In terms of absolute cases, PBA is the province that concentrates the largest number of cases with 37 confirmed in the entire season. Following are Catamarca and Formosa with 5, La Rioja with 4, and Corrientes, Neuquén, Santa Fe, Salta, Tierra del Fuego, and Tucumán with 3 cases respectively. Considering that the circulation of the transmitting mosquito is active, it is important to maintain care and prevention measures. Finally, regarding the epidemiological situation of Hantavirus, it is reported that during week 08, 6 cases corresponding to February of this year were notified: 2 in PBA, 2 in Salta, 1 in Río Negro, and 1 in Jujuy.
