Pablo Grillo Emerges After 55 Days in ICU

After 55 days hospitalized in intensive care, photographer Pablo Grillo has reappeared this afternoon. Grillo stepped out onto the hospital terrace where he is still hospitalized after being attacked by a member of the Gendarmerie during a retirees' march at the Congress. Amid an atmosphere of concern and solidarity, an encouraging message was posted on social media: "Go Pablo, every day it gets closer." In the shared photos, the young man can be seen with two nurses, waving from the terrace and wearing a hat of the Independiente club, of which he is a supporter.

Grillo's first public appearance after the attack has been met with relief and hope. The photographer suffered a serious skull trauma, multiple fractures, and loss of brain matter due to the impact of a tear gas canister on March 12 during the police repression at the protests near the Congress. His exit to the terrace of the Ramos Mejía hospital was not for medical tests or check-ups, but to enjoy some fresh air and walk around the balconies of the place, generating a feeling of intense joy.

In a context where violence and injuries have been present, Grillo's recovery becomes a symbol of resistance and struggle. Despite the adversities he has faced, his presence on the hospital terrace has been a reason for gratitude and emotion: "The joy is overwhelming," highlighted those who closely followed his recovery. After more than a month in intensive care, this first outing to the outside has represented a significant step towards his rehabilitation and a ray of hope for him and his loved ones.
