The National Meteorological Service (SMN) issued recommendations due to the arrival of heavy rains in various regions of the country. An accumulation of precipitation between 15 and 30 mm is expected, with some areas potentially exceeding this amount. In high mountain areas, rain could combine with snow.
In this context, the SMN advises the population to stay informed through local authorities and take precautions, such as removing objects that obstruct the flow of water, avoiding approaching coastal and river areas, and being prepared for emergency situations.
Among the recommendations issued, it is suggested to avoid outdoor activities and not to take out the trash while adverse weather conditions persist. It is also advised to have an emergency backpack ready with basic items such as a flashlight, radio, important documents, and phone.
The SMN has declared a yellow alert for the provinces of Neuquén, Río Negro, and Chubut, especially in the areas of the mountain ranges. Persistent rain with moderate to strong intensity is expected in the areas under alert. Therefore, residents of these areas are advised to stay attentive to local authority instructions and be prepared for any eventuality.
