In the province of Jujuy, a man has been sentenced to 14 years in prison for abusing a teenager who was the daughter of his ex-partner while he was in charge of her care. The sentence was issued by the Jujuy Justice last Tuesday and found the man guilty of two cases of "sexual abuse with aggravated access due to being committed by a guardian in real competition" against the young woman.

The Court with Trial Function, made up of Ana Carolina Pérez Rojas, Alejandra Tolaba, and Alejandro Máximo Gloss, was responsible for issuing the sentence, which included the order to keep the convicted man in the local Penitentiary Service. Furthermore, it was determined that once the sentence becomes final and accepted, his genetic profiles will be obtained for inclusion in the National Registry of Genetic Data related to Crimes Against Sexual Integrity.

The first abuse took place in the area of Punta Corral, Tumbaya, at the end of March 2024, when the teenager was camping with the man. Taking advantage of the solitude and the trust granted, the aggressor abused her. The following cases occurred on April 30 and May 1 of the same year, when the victim was again under the care of the aggressor, who abused her again.

The prosecution was led by María Emilia Curtem Haquim, while the plaintiff was represented by Ana Laura Eliazarian from the Victim Assistance Center.
