In the Buenos Aires neighborhood of Barracas, four armed criminals attempted to steal a van, but the driver opted to reverse to avoid the robbery and, in the process, ran over his cousin who was getting out of the vehicle. The incident took place last Wednesday night, and after receiving a distress call, personnel from the Comisaría Vecinal 4 D of the City Police arrived at Aristóbulo del Valle Street 1500 in Barracas.
The affected driver reported that after dropping off his cousin at his home, a Chevrolet Onix car blocked his way with the intention of robbing him, as four armed individuals got out of the vehicle. Faced with this situation, he decided to maneuver in reverse to avoid the theft, which resulted in the unfortunate running over of his cousin, who was about to exit the vehicle at that moment. The criminals, frustrated by the driver's reaction, fled the scene without accomplishing their goal.
The run over cousin received assistance from SAME and was taken to Argerich Hospital with multiple traumatic injuries. The investigation of the incident is being handled by the La Boca-Barracas Prosecutor's Office, under the supervision of Susana Callejas, who is examining the recordings from security cameras in the area to clarify what happened and identify those responsible.
