Argentina Prepares for Increased Dengue Cases

Authorities from the Ministry of Health met with representatives of companies that produce and import repellents to discuss the "Strategic Plan for Prevention and Control of Dengue 2024-2025." During the meeting, the Secretary of Administrative Management, Cecilia Loccisano, mentioned the importance of anticipating production needs based on the demand for repellents to combat dengue.

During November and December 2024, the production of repellents exceeded 28 million units, according to data collected by 14 participating companies. The purpose of the meeting was to analyze the epidemiological situation in each jurisdiction to adjust the supply of the product according to current needs.

The National Dengue Control Dashboard was presented, highlighting that, although the current season is not epidemic, an increase in the curve of cases is observed in some regions of the country. In light of this perspective, the importance of continuing to strengthen joint efforts to prevent the spread of the virus was emphasized.

During the mentioned period, the importation of repellents reached 9,399,618 units, reflecting the concern to ensure a constant supply of the product. Attention is focused on the possible rise in cases in the coming weeks, underscoring the need to maintain efficient production and distribution to address the dengue outbreak.
