A 54-year-old man was arrested in the province of Buenos Aires for driving intoxicated, without the Vehicle Technical Verification (VTV), and with an expired driver's license. The incident took place at kilometer 31.7 of National Route 226 when the National Road Safety Agency (ANSV) stopped him during a routine summer check.
After being stopped, the driver justified himself by saying he had consumed four or five beers and was returning from a club with two companions. Despite his arguments, he was arrested and faces a financial sanction that could reach $1,400,000, as well as a driving ban, the duration of which will be determined by the appropriate court.
Images captured by ANSV personnel clearly show the inappropriate state of the driver and his companions, highlighting the seriousness of the situation and the importance of controls to prevent traffic accidents and their consequences.
The ANSV emphasizes the need for citizens to take responsibility for their actions behind the wheel, fostering a culture of road safety based on freedom and mutual respect. Since the beginning of summer to date, 4,037 operations have been carried out nationwide, during which 492,000 vehicles of various types were inspected and sanctions were imposed on 9,080 drivers.
Among the most common infractions detected are positive blood alcohol levels, lack of documentation, absence of Vehicle Technical Verification, failure to use seat belts or child seats, lack of valid insurance, and manipulation of license plates. The detention of this man, with 1.71 g/l of alcohol in blood in the breathalyzer test, is a reminder of the importance of respecting traffic rules and driving responsibly.
