The Comprehensive Medical Care Program (PAMI) has modified the requirements for accessing free medications for seniors. Retired and pensioned members can request a wide list of drugs if they have the Unique Certificate of Disability (CUD).
To begin the application process for free medications, it can be done both online and in person by visiting the official PAMI page. You must enter the official PAMI website and select the option "Web Procedures." Then, in the section of "Social subsidy-free medications," start the process by filling out the required information and verifying that the established requirements are met.
The list of free medications includes a wide range of treatments, from Acenocoumarol to Vitamin B12, among others. It is important to highlight that this benefit is granted as long as the total monthly income does not exceed 3 minimum pension salaries.
To access 100% coverage for free medications, new requirements have been established, including not owning luxuries such as aircraft or boats, having a vehicle older than 10 years, having net income lower than 1.5 minimum salaries, not being affiliated with a prepaid health plan, not owning more than one property, and not having corporate assets that demonstrate economic solvency.
In the case of retired and pensioned members who have the CUD, they will be able to benefit from 100% coverage for medications, even if they do not meet all the mentioned requirements. Additionally, those who live with someone who has this certificate will also have access to full coverage.
These modifications aim to expand access to medicinal treatments for seniors, ensuring comprehensive medical care through the coverage of free medications provided by PAMI.
