A 38-year-old rideshare driver was shot dead during an attempted robbery in La Matanza. Neighbors called the police and he was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead.


Tragic Death of Rideshare Driver in La Matanza

A 38-year-old driver, employed by a ride-hailing app, was murdered in a robbery attempt in La Matanza. The tragic event took place at midnight on Sunday on Charrúa street, between Asia and Los Andes. The driver was found with a gunshot wound to the head inside the gray Peugeot Partner van he was driving.

Neighborhood residents alerted the police, requesting urgent medical assistance. The man was taken in a private vehicle to the hospital, but unfortunately, he arrived lifeless. Subsequently, the Scientific Police, under the direction of prosecutor Diego Rulli from the Homicide Thematic Prosecutor's Office of La Matanza, conducted an autopsy on the deceased and reviewed the security cameras in the area.

The victim was identified as Omar Quispe Teccse, of Peruvian nationality and a resident of La Paternal. It was confirmed that he had a gunshot wound to the head.
