A police officer from the City is in serious condition after being shot during a robbery attempt on Camino de Cintura. Officer Mamani Ernesto, belonging to the Rapid Response Division, suffered the illicit act near Villa Palito, on Camino de Cintura and Mendoza, while heading to start his shift.
On Tuesday morning, it was reported that it was being evaluated whether the bullet hit vital organs or just grazed the agent during the attack. According to port authorities, if his health permits, he will be transferred by SAME helicopter to Hospital Italiano. The 1st Police Station of San Justo intervened in the case and seized the officer's weapon.
Security Minister Waldo Wolff expressed: "City Police officer Ernesto Andrés Mamani was shot in the abdomen during a robbery attempt and is undergoing surgery at this moment. There, criminals attempted to steal his motorcycle and the officer was shot in the abdomen. We pray for him." The agent was immediately taken to Balestrini Hospital located on Camino de Cintura and Route 21, where he was taken directly to surgery due to the severity of the injury.
Furthermore, Wolff emphasized the security issues in La Matanza and the growing number of armed confrontations that City police officers living in the conurbation face when entering or leaving their homes in 2025. The minister also lamented the lack of solutions and expressed his concern about the situation on social media: "We remain available and waiting for the failed meeting between our technical teams from both districts to find solutions. What more has to happen? The problems exist even if they don't talk about them."
