Argentina Ensures National Vaccination Calendar

The Ministry of Health of the Nation, led by Mario Lugones, confirmed on Monday that the National Vaccination Calendar is assured, reaffirming the commitment to carry out vaccination campaigns through new strategies and efficient use of available resources.

In response to unfounded accusations with political motivations, the Ministry of Health denied any attempt to instill fear among the population, reminding that the validity of the National Vaccination Calendar is in place and guaranteeing the inoculation of the population. The official statement mentioned that such accusations come from former officials who were part of Alberto Fernández's administration.

The health portfolio indicated that these false allegations are made by individuals who, over the last few years, allowed the waste of large sums of money on vaccines, both national and flu vaccines. Despite the reduction in the hierarchical structure and non-renewal of contracts, it assured that all essential functions of the Ministry of Health are guaranteed.

Additionally, the agreement between Pfizer and Sinergium S.A. to produce the Twenty-Valent Meningococcal Vaccine in Argentina was highlighted as an example of the new strategies implemented. According to the Ministry of Health, this agreement will position Argentina as the only country in the region capable of producing this vaccine, with expectations of exports worth 100 million dollars.

In relation to this agreement, it was mentioned that the Argentine Society of Infectology, one of the organizations involved in the operation, is led by a former director of Control of Vaccine-Preventable Diseases during Alberto Fernández's government.
