A tragic accident took place on route 6, at the limit of La Plata and Brandsen, where a 42-year-old driver lost his life after colliding with a long-distance bus on Tuesday. The crash occurred at kilometer 38 of the road when the man rear-ended the unit carrying 22 passengers, who were unharmed.
The causes of the accident are unknown and are currently being investigated by local authorities. The deceased driver was driving an Audi Q5 SUV and collided with the rear of a double-decker bus from Plusmar that was traveling from Miramar to Merlo. The SUV sustained severe damage to its front, and the driver, identified as Bautista Bellagamba from Cañuelas, died at the scene of the accident.
The passengers and the 32-year-old bus driver were unharmed, but as a precautionary measure, necessary assistance was deployed at the scene. Ambulances, firefighters, and agents from the Buenos Aires Police attended to the scene, and the road was closed to prevent further incidents. The affected bus passengers were transferred to another unit to continue their journey, while investigations began at the accident site.
The Functional Instruction Unit of Brandsen took charge of the case to clarify what happened and determine the circumstances of the tragic accident.
