Argentina Prosecutor Requests Arrest of Bus Drivers After Fatal Crash

A serious traffic accident occurred in the Argentine town of Las Lajitas. A bus carrying ten passengers and two drivers overturned after the driver lost control. As a result of the crash, one female passenger died after being trapped under the vehicle, while others were injured.

According to the Argentine News Agency (NA), the prosecutor's office of the Anta municipality in Salta has requested a pretrial detention order for the two bus drivers. They are charged with simple intentional homicide under Article 79 of the Criminal Code. The two accused men, aged 29 and 39, are being charged as co-perpetrators of the crime.

The prosecution argues for the measure, citing the risk of flight and/or obstruction of the investigation, aiming to ensure its normal progress.
