A 20-year-old young man died and two others were injured on Saturday in a collision between a car and a pickup truck on National Route 2. Police sources informed the Argentine News Agency that the accident occurred at kilometer 191 on the uphill lane. For reasons under investigation, a gray Ford EcoSport (license plate LJE330) and a gray Toyota Hilux (PEZ 374) collided. As a result of the impact, the driver of the first vehicle, 20-year-old Sebastián Traverso from Castelli, died. The second vehicle was driven by 55-year-old Pablo Cortes, who was accompanied by 47-year-old Andrea Agariz. Both were taken to Castelli Hospital with injuries being assessed. According to preliminary data, the highway section is straight, weather conditions were good with a clear sky, while the presumed cause was a bad maneuver. AUBASA personnel removed the vehicles, and the investigation was handed over to the Castelli Prosecutor's Office, led by prosecutor Bruno Hermosa, who classified the incident as “culpable homicide,” while tasks continue to precisely establish how the fatal accident occurred.
