Argentina Thanks Chile for Help in Patagonia Firefighting

The government of Javier Milei expressed this Friday its “deep gratitude” to Chile for the assistance provided in support of the tasks to combat the forest fires affecting the Patagonian region. “Through the coordination mechanisms established between both countries, the government of Chile has made available aerial means to reinforce the tasks being carried out in the area,” the Ministry of Foreign Affairs highlighted in a statement. The Argentine government particularly valued “the spirit of cooperation and solidarity demonstrated by Chile,” as well as the joint technical work being carried out by specialists from the Federal Emergency Agency, the National Parks Administration and Chile's National Forestry Corporation (CONAF), “whose contribution constitutes a valuable input for planning, prevention and decision-making on the ground”. Foreign Minister Pablo Quirno, in turn, used his networks to thank his Chilean counterpart, Alberto Klaveren, “for the assistance provided to reinforce the fight against fires in Argentine Patagonia and for his permanent willingness to collaborate in the face of this emergency”.
