Puerto Patriada Fire Contained

The forest fire that affected the Puerto Patriada area in the Andina Comarca of Chubut has been fully contained after several days of intense work by firefighters, brigades, security forces, and support personnel. More than 650 people participated in the joint operation, which included eight aerial assets deployed in the most critical points, heavy machinery, mobile units, health teams, and the collaboration of Provincial Roads, according to the Argentine News Agency. The Emergency Committee worked in coordination with the National Fire Management Service and the provinces of Neuquén, Río Negro, Córdoba, and Santiago del Estero, in one of the most serious fires in recent years in the region. Recent rains helped to contain the fire, but the provincial government especially highlighted the work of those who directly fought the flames, saving homes and safeguarding the lives of the residents of El Hoyo and Epuyén. Starting this Tuesday, a new phase will begin, focused on reconstruction and supporting the most affected areas so that the Andina Comarca can return to normalcy.
