As the first half of the 2026 summer season comes to a close, traffic towards the tourist destinations on the Buenos Aires Atlantic Coast is increasing significantly. In response, Provincial Vialidad (Roadways Authority) has issued a series of recommendations for traveling safely and avoiding fines on the roads of Buenos Aires. Vehicle flow intensifies, especially on strategic corridors such as AutovĂa 2, provincial routes 11, 36, 56, 63, and 74, and the Buenos Aires-La Plata highway. Therefore, exercising extreme caution is essential to reduce risks and prevent accidents. Vialidad also emphasized the importance of planning the trip in advance, taking into account that roadworks are underway on some routes leading to summer destinations.
Provincial Vialidad's Key Recommendations:
- Drive with low beams on.
- Keep the Vehicle Technical Verification (VTV) up to date.
- Respect maximum and minimum speed limits.
- Use seat belts.
- Do not overtake on a double yellow line.
- Children under 12 must travel in the back seat, properly secured.
- Sleep and rest before starting a journey.
- Zero alcohol while driving.
It is also important to note that many of these suggestions not only aim at road safety but are part of the current national traffic regulations. Failure to comply can lead to traffic accidents as well as economic fines. Children under 12 must travel in the back seat and be properly secured by a seat belt.
