President Javier Milei expressed his gratitude tonight to 'everyone who worked' to combat the fires in Patagonia, and especially highlighted the work of the brigade members, firefighters, and volunteers fighting the flames. 'Thank you to everyone who worked to get the resources where they were needed,' stated the head of state, according to the Argentine News Agency, on its social media X. 'I also want to send a special thank you to all the brigade members, firefighters, and each of the volunteers who are fighting the fire, giving it their all.' In turn, Cabinet Chief Manuel Adorni also reposted Milei's post and tonight expressed his gratitude 'to the heroic action of the 295 brigade members who are at the forefront of the fight against the fire' in Patagonia, and assured that '22 of the 32 fires are completely extinguished.' Adorni detailed the areas of the Government that deployed their resources 'for the fight against the fire,' such as 'the Federal Emergency Agency - Ministry of National Security,' which deployed 14 aerial means (airtankers and helicopters), 104 brigade members from AFE with fire trucks and logistics and incident command vehicles, summoned 63 brigade members from the province of Córdoba, deployed 6 command and logistics trucks with dormitories, showers, and kitchens, and prepared special forecasts for operational decision-making. Meanwhile, he explained that 'the National Gendarmerie and Federal Police are collaborating with road assistance tasks on the road cuts ordered by the National Roads Directorate.' Adorni added that from National Parks, '128 brigade members, 25 logistics vehicles, 4 minibuses, 2 quads, 6 4x4 fire trucks, 3 boats, and 1 logistics command post' were deployed. Likewise, he specified that the Ministry of Defense 'cooperated with humanitarian aid, 1 Bell UH1H helicopter and logistical support for the aerial fight against fires through the transfer of brigade members and support for monitoring.' Furthermore, that ministry 'deployed the Army Aviation Section 11 (Sec AE 11) and a VEE 25 Ton tanker truck with 6,000 liters of aviation fuel, while two Officers and three Non-Commissioned Officers are serving in affected areas.' Meanwhile, the Ministry of Human Capital 'sent 4 trucks with supplies for the victims (clothing, water tanks, footwear, baby items, sleeping bags, mattresses, water heaters, refrigerators, stoves, etc)'. Adorni added that the Ministry of Health 'provided health personnel with experience in emergencies and disasters, including 3 doctors, 6 nurses, and 6 people dedicated to logistics, as well as 2 rapid deployment devices to stabilize patients, 2 ambulances, 2 4x4 pickups, 2 vans, 1 minibus, 1 mobile health unit for health personnel.' The Cabinet Chief also highlighted 'the contribution of important companies that made their contribution: YPF donated 15,000 liters of gasoline (equivalent to 30 tanker trucks) for the supply of relief equipment in El Bolsón, while Aerolíneas Argentinas donated 8 totems to store thousands of liters of water.' 'On the other hand, the Nation Bank has implemented financial assistance measures to support the agricultural producers and SMEs of Patagonia affected by the fires, which include credit support and the extension of deadlines for existing commercial operations,' concluded Adorni.
