Truck Traffic Restriction in Buenos Aires for Christmas

In Buenos Aires Province, a temporary traffic restriction for large trucks is being implemented for the Christmas and New Year holidays.

According to the relevant authorities, the circulation of trucks with a gross weight of more than seven tons will be prohibited during specific days and hours to facilitate traffic flow and prevent accidents.

The restriction will be in effect: - On Wednesday, December 24, from 6:00 AM to 2:00 PM, heading towards the Atlantic Coast; - On Thursday, December 25, from 2:00 PM to 11:59 PM, heading towards the City of Buenos Aires.

For the remainder of Tuesday and the early hours of Wednesday, December 24, trucks will still be allowed to circulate.

This measure, implemented during long weekends and special dates like Christmas and New Year, is a standard safety protocol carried out by the Directorate of Viality of the Province of Buenos Aires.

The following vehicles are exempt from this restriction: - Trucks with a gross weight of less than seven tons; - Transport of raw milk and its derivatives; - Transport of live animals; - Transport of frozen fish and seafood; - Transport of fruits and vegetables in transit; - Exclusive transport of press and mobile audiovisual media units; - Emergency services; - Tow trucks/assistance to broken-down or accident vehicles, at the scene or for transfer to the nearest point; - Transport of fuel, natural gas, and liquefied petroleum gas; - Transport of gases necessary for the operation of healthcare centers; - Transport of medicines; - Transport to final disposal sites for urban and/or pathological waste; - Transport complying with a direct and immediate court order; - Transport of tallow, bone, and hides.
