Buenos Aires, December 23 (NA) — Although many families and groups of friends decide to start their summer vacations before and during the holidays, choosing destinations in Argentina or abroad to close out the year and welcome the new one, many also begin to think about the getaways they can take during each long weekend of 2026. For this reason, consulting the calendar also becomes a key action.
Although the official dates have not yet been set, according to what the Argentine News Agency was able to learn, the celebration of Carnival in February will be one of the most popular long weekends of 2026, due to the varied range of destinations, its festival and national party schedule, to gradually begin to close out the summer season.

According to the current calendar and taking into account that there are fixed and movable holidays, depending on the day they fall on, they will be moved forward or backward. This means that, for example, those dates that fall between Tuesday and Wednesday and are considered movable will be moved to the previous Monday, and in the case that they are on Thursday or Friday, to the following Monday.

How many fixed and movable holidays are there for 2026?
