Two people died and another was seriously injured in a violent head-on collision between two trucks on National Route 34, near the town of Arrufó in Santa Fe province, about 220 kilometers northwest of the provincial capital, Santa Fe. According to official information, the two fatalities were in a truck traveling from Jujuy to Buenos Aires. The driver of the other vehicle, which had Paraguayan license plates and was coming from Provincial Route 39, collided with them at the intersection and is hospitalized in serious condition. According to Noticias Argentinas agency, one of the trucks was transporting flammable material, which caused a large fire upon impact. Firefighters, health, and road personnel worked at the scene, partially interrupting traffic. This new fatal accident confirms that Route 34 has the highest accident rate in the entire province of Santa Fe, with over 300 victims recorded in the last five years, according to a study by the Provincial Road Safety Observatory.
