The Argentine Emergency Agency (AFE) reported on Monday the current status of forest fires in the country. According to the agency, one fire remains active, three have been contained, and one is under control.
The active fire in the Puerto Café - Los Alerces National Park area has already burned more than 250 hectares. "We continue to monitor the situation together with local, provincial authorities, and emergency teams," AFE stated.
On Danilo Quini Island in Río Negro province, the fire has also been contained. The work involves technical personnel from AFE and the provincial forest fire prevention and service.
In the Los Cerros area in La Pampa province, the fire has been extinguished by the Bernasconi volunteer firefighters.
In Loma de la Chancha - El Turbio in Chubut province, the fire is also contained, but the exact area affected has not yet been determined. AFE technical staff, the National Fire Management Service's Southern Brigade, and Bell 407 and 412 helicopters are operating at the scene.
In La Luz, La Pampa, the fire is contained, and the exact number of hectares burned is also unknown.
