Personnel of the Argentine Naval Prefecture (PNA) seized over 300 kilos of drugs today as part of a fluvial operation called 'Frontera Alto Paraná', carried out in the locality of Puerto Libertad. The procedure took place in the Pique Corredera area, at kilometer 1,874 of the Paraná River, near Puerto Iguazú, when a patrol detected a vessel with several people and packages on board, sailing from the Paraguayan coast towards Argentina. According to Noticias Argentinas agency, upon noticing the maneuver, a vessel from the Force was immediately deployed with the support of Criminal Intelligence and Investigations personnel. After a search of the coastal area, officials found 19 abandoned packages containing a load of about 335 kilos of drugs, valued at 1.2 billion pesos, or about 810,000 dollars. The investigation was left in charge of the Federal Prosecutor's Office, headed by Marcelo Bernachea, and the Federal Court headed by Marcelo Cardozo.
