Buenos Aires, November 29 (NA) -- The National Parks Administration (APN) announced today the highest reward in the country's recent conservation history: $250,000,000 pesos for anyone who provides information to clarify the disappearance of the jaguar Acaí in El Impenetrable National Park (Chaco). According to what the Argentine News Agency learned, the announcement is made on the occasion of the International Jaguar Day, in a context of alarm for the conservation of the species. Acaí, a female crucial for the reintroduction of the species, had been released in the National Park just a month before her disappearance was reported in early November. The APN requested the communities in the region to collaborate in disseminating this instance, to incorporate new information into the ongoing judicial investigation. The APN confirmed that it will continue to work together with Rewilding Argentina Foundation, provincial authorities, and Federal Justice to clarify the facts and 'redouble the work so that the jaguar can return to inhabit with freedom and security in the National Parks'.
