Salta taxi drivers block traffic in protest

In the city of Salvador Mazza, Salta, a group of taxi drivers staged a complete traffic blockade to protest an ordinance issued by the Municipality. According to information from local media accessed by the Argentine News Agency, the protest took place at the access to San Martín Avenue and the entrance to the Aserradero neighborhood. Around noon, the taxi drivers concluded the march after a meeting with Mayor Gustavo Subelza, and the situation returned to normal. One of the articles of Ordinance No. 210/2024 states: "To regulate the provision of the Public Passenger Transport Service for the Jurisdiction of the Municipality of Professor Salvador Mazza, establishing the Unique Municipal Taxi Service Regime". The workers expressed their complaint because the measure stipulates that vehicles must display "the official logo of the Municipality" and a stop-order system.
