The week is ending with bad weather in different parts of the country, which is why the National Meteorological Service (SMN) is keeping alerts for heavy rains in some localities. This way, a yellow alert is in effect this Friday for areas in the provinces of Santa Cruz and Tierra del Fuego.
Alert for heavy rain According to the agency's report, in areas under a yellow alert, “the area will be affected by persistent rains of varying intensity, locally strong in some places”. Accumulated precipitation values of 15 to 30 mm are expected, which may be exceeded locally, especially in the mountainous areas. Meanwhile, for regions with an orange alert, the agency indicated that “the area will be affected by abundant rains”. In this case, accumulated precipitation values of 40 to 60 mm are estimated, which may be exceeded locally, especially in the highest areas, where the occurrence of mixed rain and snow is not ruled out.
SMN recommendations for heavy rain Avoid outdoor activities. Do not take out the trash.
