During an interview with the press after participating in a show hosted by Juana Viale, the artist appeared more relaxed than in previous stages and decided to clarify the contractual situation that links him to his former representative.
L-Gante spoke openly about his professional split from his former manager, Maximiliano Barbaccia, better known as Maxi El Brother, and exposed an error that —as he admitted— could have jeopardized his entire career.
One of the most striking moments of the interview came when journalists asked if his stage name had been registered by his former manager.
"Completely wrong," he firmly replied.
"But we are already on top of all that," the artist acknowledged, admitting that this oversight could have cost him dearly.
With this statement, L-Gante revealed that for years his brand had not been legally protected, leaving it vulnerable to possible commercial maneuvers or registrations by third parties.
Regarding the possibility of reconciling with his former manager, the cumbia 420 figure was firm: "I have decided that everything will be handled by lawyers and resolved formally," he stated, making it clear that there is no turning back in his professional relationship with Barbaccia.
Despite the tensions, the musician assured that he keeps his word and will fulfill all signed commitments: "Contracts are honored, simply because I am a man of my word."
"I registered L-Gante very recently, and that was my lack of attention, because someone else could have easily done it. Whether he was paid or not, whatever happens from now on under my management will be my responsibility, but I promise I will always fulfill my word," he concluded.
While the legal conflict unfolds, L-Gante recently released a new music video under the label of one of the country's most important production companies.
"I was not consulted for a long time, so through a legal letter, he has to present all the registrations within ten business days," explained Elián Valenzuela, who is in a legal dispute to review the financial movements of the last few years.
