Four people died in a head-on collision on National Route 12 in Corrientes, on October 31, at around 8:10 AM. Although traffic has now been cleared, one of the vehicles involved exploded in flames by the side of the road after the impact.

The accident was caused by two pickup trucks traveling on National Route 12, at kilometer 1304, halfway between the Corrientes town of Ituzaingó and the capital of Misiones, Posadas.

The protagonists of the fatal outcome were a family from Encarnación, Paraguay, and two individuals from Posadas.

According to testimonies from those who witnessed the accident, one of the involved drivers attempted to overtake a truck without realizing that a car was approaching head-on.

At the scene, there are no signs that any attempt was made to stop, and the force of the impact caused the Ford Ranger pickup truck to explode in flames several meters from the asphalt, resulting in the death of both occupants: Dante Adrián Guerrero and Lucas Sarchetti, both of legal age.

Meanwhile, three family members were traveling in the Toyota Hilux. The deceased were Amel Raúl Ale López, 32, and María Hebe López Beristayn, 59, along with a young man, Emmanuel José Ale López, 27, who managed to exit the vehicle on foot and was taken to a health center with minor injuries.
