On Saturday, May 17, the Night of Museums will take place in Gaiman, Chubut. The city is preparing for a cultural day open to the general public that seeks to bring the history and culture of the south closer to visitors. The event, which starts at 5 PM, will feature guided tours, shows, traditional cuisine, and a craft fair.
The Night of Museums will begin with an inaugural act at the Berwyn Popular Library. Starting at 6 PM, more than a dozen spaces will be open, bringing to life the presence of tourists eager to discover the historical and cultural richness of the region. Among the places to visit is Bethel Chapel, as well as the renowned tea houses that will offer special tastings of local products.
The evening is shaping up to be a celebration of history and culture, in addition to strengthening social ties within the community. Gaiman, recognized as a cultural destination in Patagonia, seeks to showcase its Welsh and Patagonian identity through an accessible proposal grounded in its roots. The intention is to unite past, present, and future in a night that promises to be unique.
The Night of Museums in Gaiman will feature the participation of various museums and cultural spaces in the city. Among them are the Regional Historical Museum, the Anthropological Museum, the Poet's House, and the Tehuelche Museum. There will be activities for the whole family, such as permanent exhibits, artistic interventions, folk music, and talks on local history.
One of the highlights will be the sensory experience at the Railway Museum, where period characters will recreate the operation of the train and its importance in the history of the valley. The food courts will offer typical dishes, vegan options, and regional products to complete the cultural experience of the night in Gaiman.
