The original comic from 1957, "El Eternauta", anticipated the appearance of the Estadio Monumental of River Plate after its expansion in 1978, according to La Página Millonaria. At that time, the stadium had a horseshoe shape. This detail has been one of the most commented on since the series premiered on Netflix, where the Monumental appears as a key location in the fight against an alien invasion. Although the series shows the stadium in its current form, with the lower stands closed and the complete structure, the comic already depicted it this way, which many consider a curious "architectural prediction".
One of the most notable aspects is the detail with which the artist Francisco Solano López drew the stadium in the comic. Years later, López explained that he recreated the structure of the Monumental from his memories, having etched in his mind the diagonal beams, the zigzag of the stairs, and the large upper curve. The series directed by Bruno Stagnaro also reflects this symbolic and aesthetic link with River Plate, maintaining the Monumental as an urban and narrative icon in the audiovisual adaptation.
